Outline of Annual Research Achievements

超弦理論は、 スピン2以上の重い場の存在を予言する。このような場は、揺らぎの時間発展には影響を与えるため、インフレーション期に生成された原始揺らぎの観測から、このような重い場に関する情報が得られる可能性がある。本研究では、高スピン場が原始ゆらぎに与える影響の理論的検証、及びその痕跡の観測的検証を行った。

【理論的検証】インフレーション期には、全ての観測可能な揺らぎは、加速膨張により引き伸ばされて大スケールの揺らぎとなる。従って、原始ゆらぎの進化を考える上で、長波長の揺らぎの性質を明らかにすることが肝要となる。これまで、各インフレーション模型に対する事例研究において、長波長(赤外)において、(i)整合性関係、(ii)観測量における赤外発散の相殺、(iii)曲率揺らぎの保存則などの不変的な性質が成り立つことが、多くの模型において対して示されてきた。一方で、インフレーション模型の非自明な拡張をすることにより、このような性質が成り立たない模型を構築することも可能であることが示された。本研究では、このような状況を鑑み、(i)-(iii)の赤外の性質を保証する普遍的な条件の導出に取り組んだ。結果、理論が、ある種の局所性を保持していた場合には、(i)-(iii)が成立することがわかり、原始揺らぎの赤外の性質に関して、新たな視点に基づく理解を構築することができた。

【観測的検証】一方、スピンをもつ重い場の銀河サーベイによる観測可能性の検証も行った。スピンをもつ場は特徴的な角度依存性をもつ三点相関を生成するが、このような原始揺らぎは、小スケールにおいて銀河形状の相関関数に特徴的なシグナルを生み出すことを示し、この検出可能性を、LSSTなどの将来観測を想定し、検証した。この結果をまとめた論文は、現在、Journal of Cosmology and Astrophysicsに投稿中である。
