Outline of Annual Research Achievements

太陽フレアから放射されるX線や紫外線は地球電離圏に影響を与え、デリンジャー現象という通信障害を引き起こす。現在、デリンジャー現象の予報では軟X線強度(フレアクラス)が指標として用いられているが、実際は軟X線強度と比例していないデリンジャー現象が数多く見られる。
どのような特徴を持つ太陽フレア放射がデリンジャー現象を発生するのか、その特徴を見積もるために、本研究ではまず、太陽フレアの多波長スペクトル(特にデリンジャー現象に影響すると考えられている紫外線放射)を観測データから統計的に見積もった。その結果、多くの紫外線放射は軟X線放射強度変化とほぼ同様の変動を見せたが、その紫外線放射を生成しているプラズマの温度によって変動に時間差が見られた。また、軟X線放射とは全く異なる硬X線放射と似た時間変動をする紫外線放射も多くあることが分かった。
太陽フレアやそれを発生した黒点の幾何学的な様相が太陽フレアスペクトル変動に与える影響についても統計的に解析した。まず、フレア発生時の黒点の面積とその種類と、太陽フレアの規模や発生率との関係を調べたが、これらの間に明確な関係性は見られなかった。次に、フレアリボンの長さとリボン間距離について調べたところ、どちらも太陽フレア放射の継続時間に影響していることが分かった。
以上の観測結果をもとに、太陽フレア放射を再現する数値計算モデルを構築した。フレアループが長い場合(ループ半長:52,000km)、短い場合(ループ半長:5,200km)、一般的な長さの場合(ループ半長:26,000km)について計算したところ、フレアループが長いフレアについてのみ、観測された紫外線放射の強度と時間発展をおおむね再現することに成功した。今後は、この数値計算モデルより、個々のフレアの放射スペクトルを再現可能なパラメータを導出し、得られた放射の地球電離圏への影響を検証していく。
