Outline of Annual Research Achievements

顕微鏡技術で神経回路の形態を観察すると、神経突起の形がダイナミックに変化する。その変化は秒~分のオーダーの遅い周波数で揺らぐ。これを形態振動と言う。我々は形態振動をMRI技術で捉える手法を開発した。そのMRI形態振動とと神経発火の揺らぎとの関係性を見るために脳波・MRI同時計測法を開発した。

将来的に形態振動を薬剤で阻害して因果関係を見るために、ラットを用いた。ラット15頭を用いて全脳の形態振動をMRIで観察した。神経発火の安静時ネットワークとオーバーラップする部分、異なる部分に分離できた。

形態振動の周波数は神経発火の安静時ネットワークよりも10倍遅いオーダーであった。
海馬に電極を留置し、局所フィールド電位を記録しながら海馬のMRI形態振動を計測した。各周波数帯域のパワーの揺らぎとMRI形態との関係性を解析している。
