Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、機能性官能基を有するPillar[n]areneの2次元集積化により、より高次・dynamic・elasticな動的π造形システムの構築を行った。
1)固液相転移を示す動的なπ造形システムの構築 固液相転移は温度や圧力変化により、固体状態から液体状態に可逆的に変化する現象である。この挙動は、蓄熱材料などへの利用が期待されている。しかし、熱や圧力の外部刺激により誘発されるものが主であり、適用が困難である。そのため、熱や圧力以外の刺激により相転移が誘発される新たな材料の開発が求められている。
本研究では、様々な長さのアルキル鎖を有するピラー[6]アレーンを網羅的に合成した。その中で側鎖にヘキシル基を導入したピラー[6]アレーンは、室温で液体であった。液体状態にも関わらず、緩い周期構造を有している構造性液体であった。このピラー[6]アレーン構造性液体に、シクロヘキサン蒸気へ曝すと、瞬間的に液体から固体へ相転移が生じた。またこの相転移挙動は、ゲスト分子の吸脱着により可逆的に起こることが分かった。
2)高いカチオン性のグアジニウム基を導入したピラー[5]アレーンモノレイヤーの合成 カチオン性ピラー[5,6]アレーンを1層積層させたカチオン性フィルムは、骨格に柱状ピラー[5,6]アレーンを用いているために、アンモニウムカチオン基が高密度にむき出しになった構造を形成している。そのため、カチオン性ポリマーフィルムと比較して、多くのアニオン性物質を迅速に表面に捕らえることができた。この能力をさらに増幅させるために、共役しているためにカチオン性の高いグアジニウムカチオン基を導入したピラー[5]アレーンを合成した。グアジニウム基を導入したカチオン性ピラー[5,6]アレーンをアニオン性基板に吸着させることできた。
