Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では多環芳香族炭化水素誘導体及びその集合体の励起ダイナミクス(Intrinsic-π機能)について構造的な歪みや運動性(Dynamic-π機能)を絡めて主に合成化学的に制御し、特異な光機能を創出する。特に、項間交差の制御に必須なスピン軌道相互作用及び励起一重項状態と三重項のエネルギーの差などを念頭におき、A. ペリレン誘導体の励起ダイナミクス制御 と B. ヘリセン誘導体の異方性の向上と円偏光発光特性評価 の2つを取り組んだ。
前者では、まず含窒素数の異なるアザテリレン誘導体を合成し、その励起ダイナミクス(蛍光放射、項間交差および無輻射失活の各過程)の制御を速度論的に明らかにした。また、 窒素を 2 つ導入したジアザテリレンにおいて、同じく窒素を 2 つ導入したジアザペリレンと比べて顕著な溶媒効果を観測した。これは、ペリレンよりも共役長の長いテリレン においては、極性溶媒中で、窒素原子を骨格内に有することによる励起状態の構造変化およびそれに伴う分子内電荷移動 (ICT) の形成を示唆している。含窒素部位とのプロトン化および脱プロトン化の過程についても錯形成定数を算出し、量論的な議論を行った。後者のヘリセン誘導体についても近赤外領域における円偏光発光の高い異方性因子を得ることができ一定の成果を得ることができた。
