Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究ではITO基板上にプロトン共役電子移動 (PCET) を示し、かつ異なる酸化還元電位とpKaを有する二種類のRu二核錯体を、錯体末端のホスホン酸基とZrイオンとの錯形成によるlayer-by-layer法により表面に自己集積させた2つの修飾電極を作成した。それらを二端子として
(1)0.1M中性水溶液を挟んだ二電極系でプロトンロッキングチェア型レドックスキャパシタを構築できた。
(2)電荷の貯蔵ができることから、次に中間層にプロトン伝導性を有するポリ-4-ビニルピリジンポリマー( P4VP) を挟むことで、2電極型の薄膜型分子固体デバイスを作成し、その電流電位(IV)特性を調べ、メモリスタ機能を検討した。
最初に錯体の修飾ITO基板をP4VPでコーティングした3電極式のサイクリックボルタンメトリー (CV) 測定ではRu(II/III)の酸化還元電位は負側へシフトしたことから、錯体の架橋配位子部位に存在するプロトン解離サイトであるイミノN-H基とP4VPのピリジン基との間には水素結合が生成していると考えられる。また、P4VPのプロトン伝導性は知られているので、ITO||(錯体)|(P4VP)|(錯体)||ITOの2電極型デバイスのIV曲線を測定すると、高/低伝導状態を示すヒステリシスが観測された。インピーダンス測定からRH湿度の上昇に伴い、伝導性が増大することが明らかになった。また架橋基のN-HをN-Me基にするとこのヒステリシスは観測されない。以上の結果から、2つの錯体の酸化還元に伴うpKaの差によりP4VPとのプロトン平衡が、P4VPと錯体膜界面で大きくずれ、プロトン伝導に変化が生じ、ヒステリシス挙動として観測されるプロトンメモリスタ機能を発現させることができた。
これに加えて、カーボンナノチューブやグラフェンなどナノ炭素電極上への表面修飾についても検討した。
