Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究は、加速器実験と宇宙観測から得られる実験データを活用して、素粒子物理学の標準理論を超えた新物理模型で予言される各種現象を解析することを通して、我々の住む時空の構造の解明に寄与することを目指す理論研究である。特に、新パラダイムの有力候補の一つである、空間次元が拡張された余剰次元模型を現象論的に解析することを中心に据えて、以下のような研究を遂行して来た。
昨年度に引き続き、ユニバーサル余剰次元模型において、予言される新粒子の生成断面積や暗黒物質候補粒子の残存量等の各種物理量を自動的に計算する数値計算プログラムの開発を行ってきた。最近、米国のグループにより、この模型の新粒子の質量スペクトルの予言値が修正されたが、この修正を取り入れる改良を行い、この修正が各種物理量に与える影響について調べている。
また、発見されたヒッグス粒子を余剰次元模型のゲージ粒子の一部とみなすゲージヒッグス模型において、粒子の余剰次元上の配置の仕方によりヒッグスポテンシャルの形がどのように異なるかを調べた。そして、ヒッグス粒子の3点結合が標準理論の予言値からどの程度ずれるかの計算を行っている。
その他、時空のさざ波である重力波が初期宇宙に起きた1次的電弱相転移から発生するような拡張ヒッグス模型に着目し、重力波観測と加速器実験の相乗効果を活用して拡張ヒッグス模型を絞り込む研究を行ってきた。統計的手法を用いて、LISA, DECIGO等の将来の宇宙空間での重力波観測で期待される新物理模型のパラメータの決定精度を求めた。そして、これと加速器実験から独立に得られるデータとを組み合わせることで新物理模型のパラメータを強く絞り込めることを示した。この成果を1報の論文にまとめ査読付き学術雑誌で発表した。
