Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本申請課題では,周辺部を精密に修飾したカルボン酸の設計・合成とそれらを配位子として活用した高難度分子変換反応の開発,を目的として研究を進めている.
パラジウム触媒を用いた C-H 結合活性化反応において,カルボキシラト配位子が作用する協奏的メタル化-脱プロトン化(Concerted Metalation-Deprotonation: CMD)機構が提唱されている.この反応においてカルボキシ基のα位に tert-ブチル基を有するピバル酸イオンを配位子として用いた際には酢酸イオンの場合と比較して反応活性が向上することが知られている.しかし,カルボン酸の立体環境が反応に与える影響を系統的に研究した報告例は少ない.
今回我々は,カルボキシラト配位子の役割について詳細に検討することにした.カルボキシラト配位子の立体がパラジウム触媒による C-H 結合活性化反応に与える影響を調べていく過程で,穏和な条件で進行する C-H 結合活性化反応を見いだした.パラジウム触媒による分子間C-H結合アリール化反応をモデル反応として選択し,様々な立体環境を有するカルボン酸を適用した.その結果,適切な立体を有するカルボン酸をカルボキシラト配位子源として用いると反応が良好に進行することを明らかにした.また,炭素水素活性化反応を経るフルオレン合成反応が,ピバル酸をカルボキシラト配位子源とするパラジウム触媒を用いたときに効率良く進行することを見いだした.
