Outline of Annual Research Achievements

すばる望遠鏡に搭載された超広視野カメラ「ハイパー・シュプリーム・カム(HSC)」による銀河撮像計画の最初の2年間の観測データを使い、重力レンズ効果を用いてダークマターを含む宇宙の全物質の構造が成長する様子を調べた。天球面の角度スケールごとのゆらぎの振幅の大きさを表す統計量であるパワースペクトルを測定し、現在の宇宙の構造成長率を3.6%の世界最高レベルの精度での測定に成功した。プランク衛星の宇宙マイクロ波背景放射(CMB)測定による初期宇宙の観測から推定される結果に比べ、HSCや他の重力レンズチームKiDSやDESの結果はすべて構造成長率が2-3シグマ程度小さいものであり、宇宙の標準模型ΛCDMには含まれていない新しい物理機構がある可能性を示唆している。本研究成果は多くの会議、研究会、セミナーで発表し、日本天文学会や日本物理学会などの学会誌の記事を執筆した。
今後さらに観測データを積み重ね、考えられうる系統誤差を考慮した精密な解析が必要となる。観測的な系統誤差の可能性として明るい天体の周囲をマスクすることによる影響を調べた結果、銀河形状の重力レンズによるゆがみから測定した重力レンズパワースペクトルの測定には重要な影響を与えないことを重力レンズシミュレーションを使って確かめた。また2点相関関数という実空間の統計量を用いた解析からもパワースペクトルの結果と無矛盾な結果を得た。2点相関関数とパワースペクトルは同じ2点の統計量ではあるが系統誤差が現れるスケールは異なっており、両統計量による相補的な解析を行うことが重要であることが分かった。
