Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究の目的は、究極の理論として期待される超弦理論の、大規模構造の観測を通じた検証を行うことである。超弦理論においてその存在が幅広く予言されているアクシオン及びインフレーション期における高スピン粒子の痕跡の探査に取り組んできた。
アクシオンは、構造形成において主要な役割を担う暗黒物質の有力な候補の1つである。昨年度行った研究(Kitajima,Soda,&Urakawa2018)において、アクシオンは、共鳴不安定の結果、有力な重力波源となり得ることを示し、アクシオン暗黒物質の新たな探査方法を提案した。これに引き続き今年度は、どのような場合に効率の良い重力波放出が起こるのかを調べるため(Fukunaga,Kitajima,&Urakawa 19)において、共鳴不安定性の成長率及びスペクトラムを特徴付けるモデルパラメータの解析を行った。一方、QCDアクシオンは、一般のアクシオン(Axion like particle)に比べ、ポテンシャルの形状などその性質がよく知られており、自由度が少ない。QCDアクシオンでも同様の共鳴不安性が起こるかどうかを調べたところ、観測可能な重力波を放出するのに十分な共鳴不安定性はQCDアクシオンでは起こらないことがわかった。一方で、Journal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physicsに投稿中の(Fukunaga,Kitajima,&Urakawa 20)において、一般のアクシオンでは、共鳴不安性及びタキオン不安定性の帰結として、重力波放出、アクシオンミニクラスターの形成など、観測可能な多様な痕跡が予言されることを示した。この成果は、暗黒物質探査の新たな窓を開くことにつながる。また、(Patel,Tashiro,&Urakawa 18)では、共鳴不安定性を通じた新たな磁場生成の機構を提案した。
