Outline of Annual Research Achievements

新しい温度決定システムを構築し、主にダイヤモンドアンビルセルを用いた核マントル物質の融解現象を理解するための実験的研究を推進した。核やマントルにおける融解現象は、地球内部物質進化を支配する最も重要な現象である。本年度に発表できた成果として、マントル物質の融点を決定する研究を推進し、酸化還元状態がマントルの融解現象を大きく左右する可能性が実験的に示された。この結果から、地球内部への酸素の輸送が、深さ660 kmにおける酸素誘起融解によって妨げられることが新たに示された。これは、近年観測されている地球深部における酸化還元状態異常が物質循環にも大きな影響を与えることを示唆している。また、地球核物質の融解相関係を実験的に研究することで、現在の核に含まれる軽元素の制約に取り組んだ。従来の実験よりもはるかに高い圧力において一連の実験を成功させることができた。得られた結果から、水素を含んだ鉄は純鉄よりも低い融点をもつことや、水素が固溶することで炭素固溶量を制限することが新たに分かり、地球核における水素の重要性が明らかになった。また、マントル鉱物の高圧力下における結晶構造、相関係や物性に関する実験的な研究も推進した。ドイツシンクロトロン放射光施設において行った高温高圧下その場分析を行うための技術開発に関連する成果も本年度発表できた。本年度の研究成果としては、査読あり国際学術誌に6本(印刷中含む)の論文が公開された。学会においても5回の発表を行った。
