Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究の目的は、衛星による電離圏F層の観測と、電離圏赤道プラズマバブル(EPB)の衛星・地上観測と、高精細EPBモデルを併用して、大気重力波のEPB励起源としての役割を詳細に解明するである。研究成果として以下の3点に達成した。
1 COSMIC衛星観測により、成層圏突然昇温がプラズマバブルに与える影響を解析した。その結果、プラズマバブルの発生頻度が3割ほど減ったことが明らかになった(Yu他2020)。
2 地上と衛星の同時観測により、プラズブロブがプラズマバブルの成長期に形成される傾向があることを示した(Wang et al., 2019)。
3 高精細EPBモデルを用いて、大気重力波による中性風変動がプラズマバブルの生成種にメカニズムを数値シミュレーションで示した(Yokoyama et al., 2020)。
本研究の実施により、プラズマバブルの発生メカニズムと予測に繋がる点において、新学術領域「太陽地球圏環境予測」の推進に貢献できた。さらに、本研究で得られる結果を、他グループによって開発される宇宙天気予報モデルと結合することで衛星通信、全球測位システムへの電離圏擾乱の影響予測へと発展することが期待される。
