Outline of Annual Research Achievements

まず太陽フレア放射を特徴付けるパラメータを同定するために、太陽フレア放射スペクトルと太陽フレアの基本的なパラメータとの比較を統計的に行った。この結果、太陽からのX線・極紫外線放射は太陽フレアループの形状(特にフレアループ長)との関係性が明確であることがわかった(Nishimoto et al., 2020)。この結果と1次元流体数値シミュレーション・輻射計算を用いて、個々のフレアにおける太陽フレア放射スペクトルを導出する数値計算モデルを作成した(Kawai et al., 2020)。この数値計算モデルより得られたフレア放射と、太陽フレア放射のモデルとして世界的に広く用いられているFISMによる放射計算の結果を、SDO/EVEによる観測結果と統計的に比べたところ、55nm以下の短波長側の放射を本研究がFISMよりも良く再現していることが確認された。また、太陽フレアからの極紫外線放射の時間変動は、フレアループ内のプラズマ温度の時間発展より再現できるため、物理法則を用いてフレアループ内のプラズマの分布とその時間変動を再現できれば、極紫外線放射の時間変動も再現できることが分かった(Nishimoto et al., 2021)。
上記のモデル計算で得られた太陽フレア放射スペクトルを、情報通信研究機構において運用されている大気圏・電離圏結合全球モデル GAIA(Jin et al., 2011) に入力することにより、太陽フレア時の電離圏の電子密度変動を見積もった。2017年9月6日に発生したX9.3クラスフレアにおいて本計算値とGSP観測網による全電子数(TEC)の観測値との比較を行なったところ、TECの変動には電離圏の電離に主に効いていると思われていたX線ではなく、15-35nmの紫外線放射の方が主に効いていることが分かった(Watanabe et al., 2021)。
