Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、火星水環境進化を明らかにすべく、最新の探査衛星による観測データ解析と長期的視野にたった搭載機器開発を推進し、以下を達成した。
[1] 下層から上層に水分子が輸送されるメカニズムの定量的理解:新たな放射コードの開発を行い、水分子とダスト・エアロゾルとの二次元高度分布をダスト嵐時・静穏時とにわけて解析を行った。また、下層大気現象に伴う発生・上方伝搬する大気重力波の特徴とその背景場・水輸送に与える影響を明らかにし、その成果を投稿・審議中である。加えて、TGO/NOMADデータ解析により、水蒸気・ダストのダスト嵐時の緯度分布を初めて捉えたことで、背景風速場との関連性を明らかにし、ハドレー循環が水輸送に大きな役割を担っていることを示唆し、その成果を出版した。
[2] 上層水分子が水散逸量に及ぼす影響の定量的理解:TGO衛星によって中層域のHDO/H2Oを掌握し、さらにMAVEN衛星によって均一圏界面高度の変動および上層の鉛直輸送が水散逸量に及ぼす影響を評価したことで、散逸量見積もりに重要なfractionation factorのばらつき・変動について明らかにした。均一圏界面高度の研究成果を論文に投稿・審議中である。
[3] 水分子の上方輸送の源となる下層大気現象・水循環の定量的理解:既存のMEX/OMEGAデータを整理し、ダスト嵐時に伴う大気の膨張・ダスト到達高度の上昇・水蒸気の高高度輸送の様子を捉えた。また、短時間スケールを明らかにする新たな手立てとしてMMX搭載MO装置開発を推進、観測に必要な広角視野光学系の導入、火星観測を可能にする運用検討を実施し、その成果を現在論文にまとめるべく執筆準備中である。
