Outline of Annual Research Achievements

前年度からの継続として、コロイド粒子を人工原子に見立てた結晶構造の動的最適化に取り組んだ。フラストレーションを本質的に内在する2次元三角格子結晶において基底状態へ向かって動的に座屈構造を最適化するという実験結果に対し、非線形振動クープマン解析を実施し、結晶の圧縮にともなって反強磁性相互作用を反映した空間モードが出現することを明確に示した。また実験状況を模擬した計算機シミュレーションを行い、シミュレーテッドアニーリングに相当する最適解が得られることを確認した。
DNAでつないだコロイド粒子(人工原子)を分子・ポリマーに見立て、粒子間相互作用や外場との相互作用、流体的相互作用が複雑に関与する構造決定と機能発現のメカニズムの理解に努めた。DNAをテンプレートとした金ナノ粒子鎖作製に向けて、短鎖DNAを介した金ナノ粒子結合体の形成方法を開発した。アデニンがとりわけ金表面への吸着力が強いことに着目し、アデニン短鎖を利用した金ナノ粒子鎖を作製した。また、粒子鎖を容易に可視化し、かつその構造を可変とするために、DNAで接続した磁気ビーズを作製し、磁場の印加によって鎖構造を制御可能であることを実証した。コロイド粒子の半球面をカルコゲナイド相変化材料(GeSbTe)で被覆したヤヌス粒子を作製し、結晶相とアモルファス相における誘電率や親水性の違いによって粒子間相互作用(引力・斥力)、流体相互作用(電気浸透流)の制御を実現した。さらに、コロイド粒子複合体のナノポア通過過程を観察し、複合体構造に依存したイオン電流の封鎖や電気浸透流の影響を確認した。
