Outline of Annual Research Achievements

ブラックホール・中性子星連星合体の長時間計算を複数のモデルに対して実行し、軌道10-15周の重力波波形を多数導出した。ブラックホールの質量が中性子星の3-5倍、ブラックホールの無次元化したKerrパラメータが0.5-0.75、状態方程式として3種類の2段階ポリトロープを主に用いた。これらのモデルについては昨年度までの結果を元に離心率を0.1%程度に下げ、それによる系統誤差を十分に低減している。昨年度の結果により、中性子星と同程度に軽いブラックホールでは高精度の計算が困難であることがわかったため、ブラックホールの質量をやや大きく、またスピンも大きく中性子星の潮汐破壊が期待される場合に着目した。幅広い解像度での計算を行うことで、いくつかのモデルについては数値誤差が1ラジアン以下の重力波波形を得ることができたが、同程度以上の計算機資源を費やしても連星中性子星の場合よりは全体的に精度が出にくいこともわかった。これはブラックホール付近の大きな曲率に起因するものであり、今後のさらなる高精度化には数値手法を洗練させる必要があることを示唆する。これらの結果は現在論文にまとめており、成果を公表するとともに波形を公開して関連分野の研究者に提供することを予定している。また、ブラックホールが中性子星の7-10倍と重くスピンが大きい場合の計算も進めている。このパラメータ領域は現在のLIGOやVirgoによって発見されているブラックホールの質量に対応しており、波形モデルの構築のみならず近い将来の観測と直接的に比較できる見込みもある。さらに広げたパラメータ領域も用いて、離心率低減のための半経験的公式の構築を進めている。
