Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究はハイブリッド触媒を用いた配列規制重合の開発とこの重合法を利用した高付加価値な機能性高分子材料の開発を目的としている。本年度は下記の2つについて重点的に検討を行った。
①新規ハイブリッド触媒の探索:昨年度から新規ハイブリッド触媒系として酸・塩基複合型触媒に着目し、脂肪族ポリカーボネートを与える環状カーボネートモノマーの開環重合に対する触媒スクリーニングを行った。その結果、酢酸ナトリウムなどのカルボン酸アルカリ金属塩やテトラメチルアンモニウムアセテートなどの酢酸4級アンモニウム塩に優れた触媒活性を見出した。例えば、酢酸ナトリウムを用いた場合、モノマーに対してわずか0.0001 mol%の触媒量でも十分な速度で重合が進行し、分散度の狭いポリトリメチレンカーボネートを与えた。
②乳酸とグリコール酸の交互共重合体(alt-PLGA)の合成:昨年度に引き続き、モノマー配列制御された生分解性・生体適合性ポリエステルの合成を目指し、R体およびS体のメチルグリコリドの位置選択的開環重合を検討した。様々な重合触媒を検討した結果、P2-t-Buを触媒とした重合を-78℃で行うことで乳酸側のエステル結合のみが選択的に開環し、目的としたalt-PLGAを与えることを見出した。R体とS体のモノマーから調製したalt-PLGAを当量混合することでステレオコンプレックスを形成することも確認できた。従来の重縮合法で合成された完全交互共重合体からなるステレオコンプレックスの物性と比較して、ほぼ同等であったことから本手法で得られたalt-PLGAは非常に高い交互モノマー配列を有していると考えられる。
