Outline of Annual Research Achievements

当初の研究計画において予定されていた主要な研究の一つである「注意に基づく知覚情報統合の周期性とその神経基盤」は昨年度中にほぼ目標に到達することができたため,今年度はその知見を基盤として,知覚的な意思決定のタイミングに同期した周期的な情報サンプリングを,様々な心理物理学実験と脳波解析により検討した.これらの研究では,ランダムに分布する動的な刺激入力の平均に対する意思決定に寄与する各時刻における刺激値のインパクトを心理物理学的逆相関法により導出し,それが特定の周期性をもつかを検証した.一部の研究では脳波を同時計測しインパクトの変動との関係を調べた.しかし,いずれの研究においてもインパクトや関連脳波成分に明らかな周期性は認められなかった.一方で,これらの研究は,ヒトの知覚的意思決定における情報利用の特性とその背後にある計算機構について,時空間的に分布する刺激への意思決定の二段階モデル,数に関する意思決定の特殊性,経済行動学におけるピークエンド則と相似した統合則,などいくつかの重要な知見を生み出した.成果は国内外の7つの学会で発表され,一部の国際会議で賞を授与され,3件の国際誌原著論文として投稿された.また,自然画像に対する単純な視覚誘発電位と画像中の特徴の関係を組織的に解析する研究も行い,脳波の共振成分が特定の画像特徴と動的な相関を示すこと,電位との動的相関そのものが周期的性質をもつこと,などを発見した.この研究の成果も国内外の複数の学会で発表され,二件の賞を授与された.加えて,これらとは独立に進めた順応誘発盲錯視の神経相関を調べた脳波研究では,順応により完全に知覚意識に上らなくなった刺激が,後頭葉におけるα波の強い抑制を引き起こすことを見出し,その解析を進めた.
