Outline of Research at the Start

超対称性模型は非常に有力な新物理の候補であるが、どのエネルギースケールに超対称性が存在するかは不明である。このスケールを推定するのに暗黒物質の存在が有用であると考えられる。暗黒物質の質量には現在観測されている存在量と無矛盾であるためには上限がある。本研究ではその暗黒物質質量の上限を明らかにし、超対称性スケールの上限を求める。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

超対称性を持つように拡張された標準模型は最も有望視されている新物理候補の一つである。この超対称性標準模型は標準模型にあった様々な問題を解決することが知られており、特に暗黒物質の予言は最も重要な要素である。しかしながら、史上最大の加速器実験であるLHC実験をもってしても現在までに超対称性の兆候は見つかっていない。仮に超対称性が自然界に実現したとしてもなぜ現在までに発見されていないのか?という問いに対する最も単純な回答は超対称性のスケールが大きすぎて現在の実験に届いていないということだろう。では超対称のスケールには上限があるのであろうか?この問いに対しては暗黒物質の存在量から制限がつけられると期待される。
2019年度では暗黒物質とカラー電荷をもつ超対称性粒子の質量が極めて縮退した場合に、QCDの非摂動効果によってその存在量が極めて抑制され、100 TeVを超える質量をもつ超対称性暗黒物質が現在の観測と矛盾しないことを明らかにした。しかしながら、暗黒物質の存在量の予言は宇宙初期でのプラズマの熱力学的特性などによって左右される。2020年度では暗黒物質の存在量をより正確に推定するためにこれらの熱力学的特性を詳細に調べ、最も精密な暗黒物質の存在量予言を可能にした。またこれらの予言に伴う理論誤差も明らかにした。この結果は超対称性のみならず幅広い範囲の暗黒物質や重力波の存在量にとって重要であり、さまざまな模型についての応用が期待される。
