Outline of Research at the Start

本研究計画では、素粒子標準模型と一般相対性理論に立ち返り、現在の宇宙を説明するための新物理に必要な要素を詳細に求めること、その問いに対して LHC や将来の素粒子実験や宇宙論的観測の結果からどのような情報を引き出すべきかに関する指針を与えることを目的とする。その目的のため、まずは標準模型のヒッグス場でインフレーションを起こす模型に注目し、素粒子実験や宇宙論的観測から得られた情報から新物理への示唆を引き出すための理論的背景を確固たるものとする。特に、ヒッグスインフレーション模型の高エネルギーでの理論構造を調べ、素粒子実験の結果との比較方法を確立することを目指す。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

令和2年度は、前年度までに進めてきたHiggs-R^2模型の再加熱過程に関し、これまで考えられてこなかった爆発的な粒子生成による再加熱が完了する可能性に関する研究を行った。インフレーションを起こす場のインフレーション後の場の空間内での運動軌道がポテンシャルの尾根を辿るときのみ爆発的な粒子生成が起こるが、そのためにはパラメータに微調整が必要である。そこで数値的に解析を行い、この微調整の程度を定量的に評価することに成功した。この成果はJournal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics誌にて発表された。
また、標準模型ヒッグス場の現在の真空が不安定な可能性がLHCで発見されたヒッグス粒子の質量から示唆されている。もし宇宙初期に小さなブラックホールが生成し蒸発する場合には不安定性が増大し、現在の宇宙が説明できない可能性が指摘されていた。しかしこの評価にはホーキング放射によるヒッグスポテンシャルへの補正が考慮されておらず、それを考慮すれば不安定性はそれほど増大しないのではないかと期待された。そこで適切にポテンシャルの補正を考慮した不安定性の評価を行ったところ、真空不安定性の増大は解消されないことがわかり、初期宇宙における小さなブラックホール生成に制限を与えることに成功した。この成果はJournal of High Energy Physics誌に発表された。
一方で、この評価は虚時間形式で行われていたが、その手法の妥当性に関して疑問があることがわかり、実時間での計算法の開発が望まれた。そこで令和3年度にブラックホールのない場合に関して実時間形式での真空不安定性の評価法の開発に取り組み、信頼のおける計算法の定式化に成功した。この成果はJournal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics誌に発表予定である。
