Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、特殊な地震現象であるスロー地震の中でも、火山周辺に分布する火山型スロー地震の現象解明を目指す。この火山型スロー地震は、発生メカニズムが解明されていないだけでなく、巨大地震や火山噴火との関連が疑われており、運動様式および発生原因の解明は喫緊の課題である。そのために、既存の観測網を用いた網羅的解析と、火山型スロー地震に特化した集中的観測を行う。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

新学術領域研究『スロー地震学』では、特殊な地震現象であるスロー地震の解明が目指されている。本課題では、特殊な地震現象であるスロー地震の中でも、多くの先行研究および現在進行中の計画研究が注目してこなかった、火山周辺に分布する火山型スロー地震の現象解明を目指している。この火山型スロー地震は、発生メカニズムが解明されていないだけでなく、巨大地震や火山噴火との関連が疑われており、運動様式および発生原因の解明は喫緊の課題である。そのために、既存の観測網を用いた網羅的解析と、火山型スロー地震に特化した集中的観測を行っている。二年目最終年度となる本年度は、集中的観測を無事に継続することができ、機器の撤収まで完了することができた。得られたデータについて、地震の検出や、それに基づく活動解析もすすめることができた。
