Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では『15 族、16 族元素とバナジウム間に多重結合を有する POVの合成検討・キラル補助剤による異方集積化の検討、および異方集積体を反応場とした不斉酸化触媒への展開』を目指す。これまでとは異なる形式の複合アニオン型 POV 錯体の創製を目指す。すなわち、V=O 結合を他の 典型元素 (O → S, Se, Te, NH, N) に置き換えた POV の合成と性質解明を行う。高周期典型元素-遷移金属間の多重結合に対応するHOMO準位は高く、LUMO 準位は低いので、特有の多電子酸化還元挙動を示すと考えられ、新たな物性を示す材料科学への展開に繋がるものと考えられる。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

新学術領域二年目、「ポリオキソバナテートの化学反応による直接官能基変換法の確立」を目指して研究を行なった。
ポリオキソメタレート(以下POM)は、化学式が [MxOy]n-(M = W, Mo, V, Ti, Nb, Al など)で表される分子を指す呼称で、4族から7族の遷移金属イオンの周りにオキソアニオンが配位した [MO6]を基本骨格とした多面体がオキソ架橋により縮合して形成される多核錯体である。POMは、様々なサイズ・構造の設計、電荷・含異種元素の精密に調整することが可能であり、分子認識化学・材料科学・触媒化学などへ展開されている。本研究では、これまでとは異なる形式の複合アニオン型POM錯体の創製を目指す。すなわち、M=O結合を他の典型元素 (O → S, Se, N) に置き換えたPOMの合成と性質解明を行う。一般的に高周期典型元素-遷移金属間の多重結合に対応するHOMO準位は高く、LUMO準位は低くなることが知られているので、特有の多電子酸化還元挙動を示す。従って、含典型元素-遷移金属間多重結合を有するPOMの創製は新たな物性を示す材料科学への展開に繋がるものと考えられる。
本研究では、デカバナデート(V10)、ドデカバナデート(V12)、トリデカバナデートユニット(V13)を合成し、これらに対し硫化剤を加えることでV=O結合部位をV=S結合へと変換する試みを行なった。その結果、粉末X線、SEM-EDX測定、XPS分析、IR測定などにより、バナデートに硫黄原子が組み込まれていることが明らかになった。今後は、構造を明らかにするため単結晶の作成、電子顕微鏡による考察を行う予定である。
