Outline of Research at the Start

太陽光発電が利用できない、暗所において電力自立かつ野生動物装着可能な持続血糖モニタリングを実現することを目的として、血糖発電と血糖センシングを一体化して行う発電センシング一体型集積血糖センサ技術の研究開発を実施する。研究開発を通じて、野生動物に対する負担の小さい持続血糖モニタリングを可能とすることによる、生物移動情報学の発展への貢献について可能性を検証する。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究においては、太陽光発電が利用できない、暗所において電力自立かつ野生動物装着可能な持続血糖モニタリングを実現することを目的として、血糖発電と血糖センシングを一体化して行う発電センシング一体型集積血糖センサ技術の研究開発を実施した。研究開発を通じて、野生動物に対する負担の小さい持続血糖モニタリングを可能とすることによる、生物移動情報学の発展への貢献について可能性を検証した。
初めに、野生動物における皮下組織間質液を模擬した模擬生体液において評価を行い、その際に得られる性能指標から侵襲性を見積もり、以降における動物実験への準備を行った。
侵襲性の低い超小型の無痛針形状の固体素子型グルコース発電素子ならびに180nm/65nm/22nm CMOS プロセスにより製造したセンシング並びに無線通信等の情報伝達を行う半導体集積回路を組み合わせ、室内飼育動物搭載可能な持続血糖モニタリングデバイスのプロトタイプの試作を行った。
研究開発を通じて、極めて低電力で動作するバイオセンサ集積回路の設計・試作に成功した。具体的には、バイオ発電素子の出力から生体情報を取得・蓄積し、それを無線送信する集積回路の開発に成功した。65nm 低電力 CMOSプロセスを用いて、実集積回路デバイスにおいて実現可能性を実証することに成功した。また、極めて低電力で動作する周波数シフト型のミリ波帯バイオイメージング技術の開発に成功した。22nm 超低リーク電流 CMOSプロセスを用いて、実集積回路デバイスにおいて実現可能性を実証することに成功した。
これらの研究開発成果により、太陽光発電が利用できない環境下においても、電力自立かつ野生動物装着可能な持続血糖モニタリングの実現に成功した。
