Outline of Research at the Start

核子Nのカイラルパートナーの候補とされる核子共鳴N(1535)S11の構造を調べるためには、S11と強くするηNチャンネルの低エネルギー散乱の情報が欠かせない。本研究では、ηメソンと中性子nの散乱の寄与を露わに含む最適な運動学で、重陽子d標的でのηメソン光生成反応の微分断面積を測定し、ηN散乱の散乱長を精密に決定する。これにより自由空間でのS11の構造の解明を目指す。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

核子共鳴N*(1535)S11は核子Nのカイラルパートナーの候補とされるが、その構造についてはよくわかっていない。N*(1535) はηメソンとNに崩壊しやすいため、N*(1535)の性質を明らかにするには低エネルギーηN散乱の情報が欠かせない。本研究では、ηと中性子 (n) の散乱の寄与を露わに含む最適な運動学で、重陽子(d) 標的でのηメソン光生成反応の微分断面積を測定し、ηn 散乱の散乱長すなわちηN散乱の散乱長を精密に決定する。これにより自由空間でのN*(1535)の構造、カイラル凝縮に伴う質量増加なのか、ηとNのハドロンクラスターの分子状態なのか、の解明を目指す。
東北大学電子光理学研究センター ELPH の光子ビームラインで 電磁カロリメータ FOREST と前方スペクトロメータ BLC を使って、陽子 (p)を0°で検出した 940 MeV 程度の光子ビームでのγd→ηpn反応に対するηn不変質量に対する微分断面積を測定する。実験遂行により統計量を増やすとともに、データ解析を継続的に行った。水素標的におけるγp→ηpあるいはγp→π0p反応のイベントで BLC スペクトロメータの運動量の較正を行い、重水素標的データでのプリリミナリーなηn不変質量分布を得た。
その他にも中性メソンと核子の間の相互作用として、低エネルギーωp散乱パラメータ (散乱長と有効距離) を決定し、学術論文にまとめあげた。またγd→π0ηd反応イベントの解析でηd 系でのアイソスカラーなダイバリオンのピークを見出し、観測されたダイバリオンの質量と幅を決定するとともに、中間状態のスピンパリティを与えた。またその質量分布からηd散乱パラメータの導出を行った。これらについては、2 つの学術論文 (letter と full paper) を執筆中であり、近日中に投稿予定である。
