Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、ナノ・ミクロ組織ハイエントロピー合金の高温特性を制御する根本的なメカニズムを高温変形・加工中のその場中性子回折実験で明らかにしようとする。新学術領域A03班から提供された加工熱処理で創製した数種類のナノ・ミクロ組織のハイエントロピー合金を対象として、高温変形・加工中のその場中性子回折実験を行い、結晶学的ミクロ組織情報を試験片バルク状態で獲得し、機械特性との比較を行うなどして、研究を計画している。今回の研究計画を遂行するために必要な研究環境を十分に整えており、速やかに研究を実行することができる。本研究において優れた成果が得られた場合には、速やかに情報を公開する。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究の目的は、ナノ・ミクロ組織ハイエントロピー合金(HEA)の高温・応力負荷外場環境下においてその場中性子回折による結晶構造測定を行い、高温特性を制御する根本的なメカニズムを明らかにすることである。HEAは、1つの主要な元素に基づいている従来の合金と違って、複数の主成分状態図の中央付近の化学組成を持ち、高温での高いエントロピーと構成原子の遅い拡散の結果、高温で優れた機械的性能を示すと期待されていた。しかし、高温特性を制御する根本的なメカニズムは、合金組成上の複雑さ及び元素間の相互作用のために依然として未知であるため本研究を行った。
加工と熱処理で創製した異なる結晶粒サイズのHEAを対象として、加熱・高温保持中のその場中性子回折実験を行い、結晶学的ミクロ組織情報(結晶構造安定性・変化、元素分配、結晶粒間及び相間の応力、集合組織、転位及び結晶子サイズ等)を獲得し、試験片バルクの熱膨張の変化と比較して、高温での相安定性を調べた。2種類のHEA: CoCrFeNi合金とHfMoNbTaTi合金を研究に用いた。CoCrFeNi合金は、加熱中または高温保持中にFCC構造で非常に安定していたが、加熱中のバルク熱膨張との差が大きかった。回折データには本合金系で知られている結晶構造で同定されない単結晶のような第2相が存在し、熱膨張の違いで加熱中のFCCのメイン相の格子定数に影響を及ぼした。この第2相は、短範囲規則もしくは中距離規則性である可能性があり、CoCrFeNi合金の室温変形の強度にはほとんど寄与しなかった。一方、HfMoNbTaTi合金はBCC構造をしていたが、1373K以下での高温保持中に相分解が起こり、保持温度が低くなればなるほど分解速度が大きくなった。上記の研究と並行して、CoCrFeNiとCoCrNiの合金の低温での優れた機械特性の発現機構の解明も行った。
