Outline of Research at the Start

トポロジカル絶縁体の発見以降、波動関数のトポロジカルな性質に起因した異常な物性が数多く報告され、理論の整備・物質開拓が急速に進められてきた。
一方で近年、基礎方程式が非エルミート行列で記述される非エルミート系において、これまでにない特有の現象が報告されている。本研究では、非エルミート・トポロジカル系の理論の整備を行うとともに、非エルミート性という新しい観点からトポロジカル物質の開拓に取り組む。特に、メカニカルメタマテリアル、トポロジカル電気回路、強相関電子系を主な舞台として独自の研究を展開していく。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本課題では大きく分けて三つの成果を挙げることができた。以下、具体的に述べる。
1)進化ゲーム理論におけるトポロジカル物理の展開:進化ゲーム理論は生物の繁殖や人間の合理的振る舞いなどの数理的な記述を可能とし、生物物理や社会科学といった学際的な注目を集めている。このような背景のもと、本研究ではじゃんけんゲームを拡張した系においてトポロジカル現象が見られることを明らかにした。具体的には、トポロジカル現象の典型例であるカイラルエッジ状態の発現をカゴメ格子状のじゃんけんゲームを解析することで明らかにした[T. Yoshida PRE (2021)]。さらに、例外点の発現や非エルミート表皮効果の発現も指摘した[T. Yoshida et al., Sci.Rep. (2022)]。
2)トポロジカル近藤絶縁体の表面における例外点の発現:トポロジカル近藤絶縁体の候補物質であるSmB6ではギャップレスの表面状態が発現することが確認されている。本研究では、SmB6と同じトポロジーを有する周期アンダーソン模型を解析することで二次元表面において例外点が発現することを明らかにした[R. Peters et al., PRB (2021)]。
3)ゼロ次元強相関非エルミート系における点ギャップトポロジーのリダクション:非エルミート系では点ギャップトポロジーという特有のトポロジカルな構造が見られる。一方で、通常のエルミート系では強相関効果によって自由粒子系の分類学が変更を受ける、分類学のリダクションが報告されている。この背景のもと、本研究ではゼロ次元非エルミート系における強相関効果を解析し、点ギャップトポロジーにおいても強相関効果による分類学のリダクションがみられることを世界に先駆けて明らかにした[T. Yoshida et al., PRB (2021)]。
