Outline of Research at the Start

固体電気化学反応は、数ボルトおよび数ミリアンペアといった微弱な電気信号・刺激の出し入れによって起きる電極材料への電子の授受と電極界面および電極内へのイオンの拡散・集積から成り、様々な電気化学エネルギーデバイスの基本原理として重要であるだけでなく、電極材料の基礎物性を変化させることも可能である。本研究では、この固体電気化学反応を利用したソフトクリスタルの新機能開拓と新現象・原理の発見を目的に、 (i)ソフトクリスタルに特異な蓄電機能開拓、(ii)ソフトクリスタルの電気化学的光学特性制御、の2つのテーマを実施する。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

電極材料への電子の授受と電極界面および電極内へのイオンの拡散・集積から成る固体電気化学反応は、物質の新たな機能や現象・原理を開拓するうえで非常に有用な手段である。本研究では、金属錯体分子が集積化したソフトクリスタルを対象に、特異な蓄電機能の開拓を目的とする研究を行い、例えば、1.電荷移動錯体の分子間相互作用と電池特性の相関解明、2.アゾ基含有金属有機構造体(MOF)のNaイオン電池特性、といった成果を得ることができた。下記にそれぞれの成果を具体的に示す。
1.電荷移動(CT)錯体は、ドナーとアクセプター間のπ-π相互作用によって、安定な柱状構造を形成し、柱状間の空隙がリチウムイオンの拡散経路となる。本研究では、3種類のドナー(コロネン、ピレン、カルバゾール)とアクセプター2,3,6,7,10,11-ヘキサシアノ-1,4,5,8,9,12-ヘキサアザトリフェニレン(HAT-CN)からなるCT錯体の電池特性を比較し、ドナーとアクセプター間のπ-π相互作用が大きいほど、安定な柱状構造を保ち、高容量を示すことを明らかにした。
2.酸化還元活性なアゾ部位を含む配位子を有するAzo-MOFに着目し、その蓄電機能開拓を試みた。CPL-4([Cu2(pzdc)2(azpy)])を対象に、Liイオン電池(LIB)およびNaイオン電池(SIB)正極特性を検討し、Cu2+/Cu+とN=N/N-Nの酸化還元反応から、SIBの正極活物質としては機能するが、LIBではCPL-4粒子表面のみの酸化還元反応による小さな容量しか得られないというNa+イオンに特異な蓄電現象を明らかにした。
