Research Abstract

有機薄膜太陽電池は、励起子拡散長が短いためドナー-アクセプター界面で生成された励起子のみが解離して光電流に寄与し、キャリア生成サイトが少ないことが、高効率化において最大の問題の一つである。本研究では、表面プラズモンを利用した有機薄膜太陽電池の高効率化について検討を行った。まず、ドナーとアクセプターが素子全体にわたって入り組んだ相分離構造を形成するバルクヘテロ型、および、ドナーとアクセプターとの積層界面で両者の入り組んだ状態を自己組織的に形成する相互浸透積層構造型を採用し、金属ナノ微粒子の導入効果を検討した。その結果、外部量子効率EQEが80%近い光吸収波長範囲内での大きなプラズモン効果は期待できず、吸収範囲の拡大あるいは吸収の少ない波長領域でのプラズモン利用の検討の必要性を示した。次に、ドナー材料として導電性高分子およびフタロシアニン、アクセプター材料としてC_<60>またはフラーレン誘導体PCBMを用いて、積層構造を金属薄膜で挟んだMIM構造を作製し、光電流スペクトルの測定よりプラズモンがキャリア生成機構に及ぼす効果、特に長距離伝搬プラズモンが励起子生成機構に及ぼす効果を調べた。その過程で、側鎖を導入した液晶性フタロシアニンをドナー材料として用いた場合、低分子でありながら溶媒塗布によりバルクヘテロ構造の形成が可能であり、0.8Vを超える高い開放電圧が得られ、3.2%のエネルギー変換効率が得られた。また、導電性高分子/PCBM複合系に液晶性フタロシアニンを添加することにより、導電性高分子吸収帯域におけるEQEを損なうことなく、赤外域でのキャリア生成が増大し、短絡電流の増大・効率の改善に寄与することを明らかにした。
