Research Abstract

本研究では、光機能性を有するフォトクロミックジアリールエテンポリマーを被覆した金属ナノ粒子のフォトクロミック反応の増強電場効果に関する研究を進め、光-分子強結合場における高効率なフォトクロミック反応系の構築を目指すとともに、増強電場を及ぼす金属ナノ粒子表面からの距離依存性について検討した。
ジアリールエテンポリマーを被覆した平均粒径約18nmの金ナノ粒子を作製し、溶液中における金ナノ粒子近傍のジアリールエテンの可視光照射に伴う光開環反応性を検討したところ、ジアリールエテンポリマーのみよりも反応速度の上昇が認められた。これは、金ナノ粒子の表面プラズモン共鳴(LSPR)に由来した電場増強効果によるものと考えられる。その増強効果を定量的に解析するために、2種類のモデルをたてて検討した。1つ目はジアリールエテンポリマー全体にわたって均一に反応が増強されているとしたモデルであり、もうひとつは金ナノ粒子の近傍でのみ反応が促進され、それ以外の部分では影響を受けないとした2成分モデルである。これらのモデルに従い、実験結果のフィッティングを行ったところ、前者よりも後者のモデルの方が実験点とよく一致しており、金ナノ粒子近傍でのみジアリールエテンの光開環反応が増強されていることが示された。また、フィッティング結果より、金ナノ粒子表面から約10nmの範囲において通常の2～5倍程度の反応の促進が認められた。これらの結果は、コアシェルモデルを用いた吸収スペクトルの理論的シミュレーションによっても再現することができ、金ナノ粒子の増強効果を定量的および空間的な解析することができた。
