Research Abstract

数十μmの長さのアニオン性チアカルボシアニンH会合体にクエン酸還元銀ナノ微粒子を光トラップして、異なる波長で励起することで同じ波長に現れる燐光の増強と消光に成功した。すなわち、514nmで励起した場合は近赤外レーザー光強度を上げるとH会合体からの燐光が増強されたが、568nm励起では逆に燐光が減少した。これは、銀ナノ微粒子の局在表面プラズモン共鳴(LSPR)ピークが568nmに近かったので、568nm励起の方が銀ナノ微粒子接点に生じる光トラップポテンシャルは深くなり、H会合体に接近しすぎることで燐光の表面プラズモン増強よりも金属へのエネルギー移動による消光が起きたためと考えられる。この研究から、励起光や発光の波長および強度によって光スイッチングができる自己組織化有機分子会合体とプラズモニックデバイスが融合した光機能性材料の可能性が示された。
表面増強ラマン散乱(SERS)は極微量な試料でも振動分光が可能な手法であるが、単一分子レベルになると吸着分子のホットサイトへの出入りによると思われる明滅現象が観測され、スペクトル揺らぎや信号強度の低下を引き起こすのでSERSの実用化・高効率化の観点からも、明滅現象の機構解明が重要である。今回、励起光とLSPRの波長の一致具合で光トラップポテンシャルが変化することにより単一分子レベルのSERSで起きる明滅現象に影響が出ることを、明暗状態保持時間の確率分布の冪乗則での解析で示した。すなわち、プラズモン増強ピークが励起波長に近くなると、冪指数が-1.5に接近した。これは一次元ランダムウォークモデルで導出される値であり、プラズモン増強電磁場存在下における吸着分子の拡散の様子を近似していると思われる。
