Research Abstract

本研究の研究目的は,f 電子系圧力誘起超伝導体において,磁気秩序が消失する量子臨界領域で発現する超伝導と磁性との相関を明らかにすることである。これらの系の超伝導は、磁気揺らぎあるいは価数揺らぎ,構造的な不安定性と深く関連していると考えられており、その電子状態や磁性の不安定性と超伝導の関連を明らかにしたいと考えている。そこで本研究では,高圧、強磁場、極低温下の極限環境下での電気抵抗や磁場中比熱の実験により,量子臨界点近傍の磁性と超伝導の研究を行った。
本年度はまずCeIrSi_3の加圧下・磁場下での交流比熱の測定を行った。昨年度の電気抵抗の実験から、反強磁性が消失する圧力P_c^*=2.25GPa以上の圧力下で磁場を印可すると、磁場下で再び反強磁性と思われる相が誘起されてくることを見いだしていた。ただし,その異常は非常に小さく,また電気抵抗では,その異常がバルクな性質なのかどうか,不確かであるため,比熱の実験により確証を得る必要があった。その結果,明確な磁場誘起相の大きな比熱のジャンプを観測することができた。また,磁場誘起反強磁性相内の超伝導による比熱の異常は非常に小さく,磁場誘起反強磁性と超伝導が競合していることが示唆された。また,超伝導相内には磁場誘起相は観測されず、CeRhIn5で観測された超伝導と反強磁性の共存はないものと思われる。また,CeTX_3(T:Co,Ir,X:Si,Ge)に加え,CePtSi_2,CeRhGe_2の圧力誘起超伝導や,YbIr_2Zn_<20>の重い電子系のメタ磁性の研究を行なった。特に,YbIr_2Zn_<20>では,約5GPaの加圧で重い電子系のメタ磁性転移磁場Hmがゼロ磁場まで下がり,5GPa以上の圧力で反強磁性が誘起されることを見いだした。
