Research Abstract

・Yb系重い電子系化合物であるYbCo_2Zn_<20>やYbPtSbにおいて核磁気共鳴(NMR)/核四重極共鳴(NQR)測定を行った。前者については、^<59>Co-NQR測定(ゼロ磁場下)と<59>Co-NMR測定(0.8～10T)によって、強磁場下ではスピン揺らぎやフェルミ準位での状態密度が大きく減少することがわかった。また、参照物質LuCo_2Zn_<20>についても同様の実験を行うことにより、NQR/NMR測定における4f電子と伝導電子の寄与を分離することに成功した。さらに、^3He冷凍機(兵庫県立大)、^3He-^4He希釈冷凍機(京都大との共同研究)を用いてNQR測定を行い、極低温下における重い電子状態形成と思われる実験証拠を得た。
・Sm系重い電子系化合物であるSmB_6に関して、磁性-非磁性転移近傍における特性を明らかにするために、圧力下^<11>B-NMR測定を行った。圧力発生容器(ピストンシリンダーセル)を用いて2.5GPaの圧力下までの測定を行い、低温絶縁体ギャップの大きさが圧力増加と共に減少することを初めてNMR測定によって明らかにした。当年度後半からは、さらに高圧下での測定を行うためにプリッジマンアンビルセルを用いた測定の準備を千葉大学との共同で行っている。
・領域主催のワークショップ「Yb系重い電子化合物における電子状態と新しい物性」の世話人として、姫路商工会議所での開催準備と当日の運営に当たった。Yb系の最近の研究報告から過去の重要課題に関する講演を受け、議論と共通認識について理解を深める機会を作った。
