Research Abstract

金属と量子井戸結合系における低次元励起子・プラズモン相互作用を空間的・時間的分解分光法を用いて解明した。量子井戸からの励起子光は、金属層の存在により、低温域(10-75K)において、発光消光を示し、室温域においては、消光現象は観測されなかった。量子井戸構造はCdZnO/ZnOの単一量子井戸を用いており、低温域において励起子局在性を有する。発光消光の温度依存性は励起子局在性の温度変化と良い相関を示した。低温域における高速時間分解分光法(TRPL)を用いて、消光現象の起源の検討を行った。量子井戸内の励起子エネルギーの34%が金属層へ無輻射的にエネルギー移動をしていることを解明し、エネルギー移動の時定数は約1.0ns^<-1>程度であった。更に、量子井戸と金属層間の空間距離(d)と発光消光の関係は、d^4依存性を示し、surface energy transfer(SET)過程に従う。金属層は可視域で局在プラズモン吸収を示す。故に、発光消光現象は、量子井戸内の励起子と金属表面上に励起された局在プラズモンとのエネルギー共鳴が起源であることを見出した。クーロン相互作用に基づく金属・量子ドット系の励起子・プラズモン相互作用と比較し、金属・量子井戸系のエネルギー共鳴の空間距離は、2倍程度大きい。最後に、励起子局在性は、発光消光の引き起こす要因であり、高効率な量子井戸光を達成するためには、励起子の局在効果は抑制する必要がある。
