Research Abstract

本研究は、マイクロ波による電極レス伝導度測定法(Time-Resolved Microwave Conductivity : TRMC法)をその核とし、1.TRMC法に用いるマイクロ波共振器内への多層電極構造の導入、2.TRMC法による過渡伝導度と多層電極構造Field Effect Transistor : FET特性のin-situ評価、3.電極界面への選択的光励起によるTime-of-Flight : TOF・横型TOF測定のin-situ測定、の3項目により、π電子化合物およびその集積構造体の重要な電子機能である電荷移動度について、それぞれの素子中における特性を、「1日以内」の極短時間で包括的解釈できるシステムの構築を目的としている。
本年度は、マイクロ波吸収に不活性なマトリクスとしてPMMAを使用し、この中に鎖長の異なる共役分子を分散させ、それぞれの骨格の固有の電荷輸送特性の評価を目指した。重合度をさまざまに変化させたポリチオフェン(PT)、ポリフェニレンビニレン(MEH-PPV)、ポリフルオレン(PF)、ポリピロール(PP)、およびケイ素共役主鎖を有するポリシラン(PSi1)・(PSi6)について、分子内正孔移動度の共役骨格差長依存性を検討した結果、共役骨格の1次構造により、その分子内共役系に沿って期待できる1次元移動度の飽和値はさまざまであることが明らかとなった。特に比較的長い持続長が報告されているPF・PSi6・MEH-PPV(Persistence Length>2nm)において、高い分子量域にわたる正孔移動度の上昇が観測された。これは、高分子の骨格構造制御が直接主鎖共役系の電荷輸送特性を支配すると同時に、過去1世紀以上にわたって展開されてきた高分子構造の定量議論が電子物性予測に直結することを示唆している。
