Research Abstract

平成22年度に実施した研究内容は、(1)国際統合掘削計画(IODP)第327次航海で海洋性地殻内部の流体移動経路を推定、(2)ファンデフーカプレート東翼部(IODP掘削孔周辺)で取得された地震探査データから海洋性地殻の形状と断層の抽出、(3)南海トラフで広域にわたって存在する海洋性地殻内断層の推定、(4)無人潜水艇うらしまのサイドスキャンソナーから熱水プルームを推定、の4つである。それらの具体的な内容を以下に示す。
(1) 海洋性地殻内の浸透率の異方性やスケール依存性を調べるために、IODP第327次航海にCo-chief研究者として参加した。この航海では、ファン・デ・フーカ中央海嶺東翼部で海洋性地殻内の流体モニタリングを実施するため、掘削孔に流体モニタリング装置を設置し、トレーサー試験を実施した。また、掘削で得られたコア試料に対して浸透率を測定し、変質の度合いと浸透率の関係を議論する予定である。さらに検層データからは、フラクチャーの特徴を抽出することに成功した。
(2) IODP掘削サイト周辺で取得された反射法地震探査データを解析した。掘削で得られた浸透率に関する情報を、反射法地震探査データと比較し、流体の移動経路となっているフラクチャー等を反射断面図上で特定することを試みた。
(3) 南海トラフで取得された三次元反射法地震探査データや、広域に取得されている二次元反射法地震探査データを解析して、南海トラフに広範囲に分布する海洋性地殻内断層の形状を調べた。
(4) 無人潜水艇「うらしま」によって取得されたサイドスキャンソナーを使って、伊平屋北海丘の熱水プルームを可視化することに成功した。
