Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、DNA高次構造である「グアニン四重鎖 (G-quadruplex; G4) 」 認識フラグメント (BG4) を神経細胞に発現させることで、内在性の G4 構造を生理的に同定する革新的技術を用い、「G4 構造による DNA 可塑性/弾性 (G4DNA plasticity/elasticity) が記憶の分子階層を担うこと」を実証する。神経細胞における刺激依存性 G4 構造変化のゲノムマッピング、生細胞 G4 構造イメージングを行う。 DNA に可塑性/弾性が存在すること、また、それらが脳神経細胞における遺伝子発現を制御し、学習・記憶機能に関与することが実証できれば、生物学において画期的な発見となる。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements
