Research Abstract

高い熱電効率を持つ物質を開発する指針を得ることおよび,多様な電子物性を持つ低次元強相関有機伝導体を熱電材料として利用する可能性を探るために,平成22年度より開始したτ型と呼ばれる結晶構造を持つ一連の擬二次元有機伝導体の無次元熱電性能指数ZTの評価を引き続き行った.ZTをより正確に決定するために,クロメル-コンスタンタン熱電対を4.2Kから300Kに渡って較正した.ZTの測定法の改善を行った結果,τ-(EDO-S,S-DMEDT-TTF)_2(AuCl_2)_<1+y>が分子性導体として最高のZTである0.069を175Kで示すことがわかった.さらに,結晶に不規則性を導入して熱伝導度を低くすることでZTを向上させるために,対称性の低いドナー分子であるETO-R,R-DMEDT-TTFのAuBr2塩について測定を行ったが,より対称性の高い分子の塩と比較して熱伝導度は特に変化しないことがわかった.このことから,分子性導体の熱伝導度は,フォノンよりも分子振動の寄与が大きいことが示唆される.この結果を受けて,イオウをセレンで置換して分子量を大きくすることで熱伝導度を低くすることを目的として,P-S,S-DMEDT-DSDTFのAuBr_2塩等の測定も行った.セレンを含まない分子の塩と比較して,ZTが最大で30倍になることを見いだした.これらの結果から,今後分子性導体のZTを向上させるためには,分子振動に着目した物質開発が有効であるという指針を得ることができた.
