Research Abstract

カーボン・ナノチューブの示す量子干渉効果など興味深く特異な伝導現象を理論的に解明し予言することを研究の目的とし、本年度は次の4つの成果を得た。[A]平らなカーボン・ナノチューブの電子状態。特定領域内の実験グループによる太く平らなカーボン・ナノチューブ精製の報告をふまえ、その電子状態を有効質量方程式の方法で調べ、面間相互作用と対称性の観点から議論した。グラフェン・リボンとは対照的に、揺らぎのない端構造を持つ量子細線として、電気伝導特性が期待される。[B]多層グラフェンの谷分極伝導。比較研究として同様に面間相互作用が重要となる、多層グラフェン境界の境界条件を有効質量近似の範囲で導き、昨年度の成果である1-2層グラフェンにおける谷分極伝導と同様の電気伝導特性を示した。さらに層数の偶奇による平均した電気伝導度の振動などの成果を得た.[C]ピーポッド・ナノチューブとレーザー照射。時間依存第一原理シミュレーションにより、パルス・レーザー照射下におけるアセチレンを内包したカーボン・ナノチューブにおいてアセチレン2量体の新しい振動を示した。この成果はカーボン・ナノチューブをナノ試験管として用いる、レーザー照射により誘起された新しい化学反応の可能性を示しており、PNASに掲載が決定した。[D]領域内の実験グループと共同で多層ナノチューブの磁気抵抗に現れる、曲率、静水圧などに起因する有効磁束と外部磁場の相殺を示した。実験で観測されている多くの磁気抵抗振動に関し、格子欠陥、電極接合の効果、およびアハラノフ・ボーム効果など量子干渉効果を議論した。
