Research Abstract

本研究では、電子スピンと超伝導体秩序変数の位相との結合から生まれる量子状態について、高感度伝磁気測定などへ応用することも念頭に置き研究を進めてきた。この観点で、超伝導体と強磁性体の接合(強磁性ジョセフソン接合)は、磁気ランダムアクセスメモリー(MRAM)で用いられる磁壁運動の測定にも応用が可能であり、かつ量子ドットとの類似性もあるため、重要な研究対象の一つだと位置づけられる。超伝導体の量子コヒーレンスが現れる電流電圧特性を記述するために、ジョセフソン電流、抵抗、コンデンサーからなる等価回路モデルは有効である。これまで、単一磁区の強磁性体を考え、強磁性共鳴が階段状の電流・電圧特性を与えることを示した。この階段状の構造は、電子スピンと超伝導体の位相のコヒーレントな運動から生じ、各々の緩和が電流・電圧特性に与える変化は異なる。一方で、MRAMでは強磁性体中の磁壁をメモリーとして用いることが考えられており、それを高精度に制御することが重要である。しかし、電流や磁場で駆動された磁壁の運動は複雑であり、高精度で観測する手段が必要である。そのため、これまでの結果を、超伝導と磁壁を含んだ強磁性体の接合に拡張することを試みた。磁壁構造を簡単な模型で記述し、それが単振動している場合について、超伝導電流に対する解析的表式を得ることが出来た。そして、電流電圧曲線に階段状の構造が現れることが分かった。階段状の構造が現れる電圧は、磁壁の振動数と物理基本定数のみで結び付いていることから、磁壁運動の高精度測定の新しい原理となりうる。
