Research Abstract

ロタキサンなどの分子群では、そのコンポーネントは特殊な空間的配置にあるため、輪成分中の原子と軸成分中の原子の間の相互作用の結果がその運動性などの特性として顕著に現れてくる。本研究ではロタキサンなどのインターロック分子に遷移金属を固定化し、近傍効果によって現れる相乗的な相互作用を利用した新たな分子変換反応を開発し、その結果をベースとして酵素様分子触媒や直線分子モーター、さらには新しい高分子合成法の構築を目指し検討を行った。
昨年度までにマクロサイクル触媒を用いる高分子反応系において、触媒の「トポロジー効果」
を見いだしているため、こうした反応系を基盤とした不斉反応への展開や新しい高分子合成法の構築を目指し、今回(1)軸不斉ユニット含有マクロサイクル触媒や(2)2環性マクロサイクルを新規に開発した。(1)のマクロサイクル触媒を用いてヒドロアミノ化反応を検討した結果、不斉反応の進行が確認されたため、この触媒は空孔を貫通できる基質のみと反応するサイズ認識型不斉触媒であることが分かった。また(2)2環性マクロサイクルを用いた分子変換法についても検討した結果、触媒量の(2)及び4-ビニルピリジン存在下で様々なビニルモノマーのラジカル重合を行うと、重合と貫通が一挙に起こり空間結合によって架橋されたポリロタキサンネットワークが得られることが分かった。今後(2)の特性を利用することで、多様な高分子トポロジーを創出することが可能になると期待される。
さらにこれまでに得られた知見を総括し、ロタキサン空間を活用する時空間集積型反応触媒と従来型触媒の反応特性の差異を明らかとした。
