Research Abstract

本研究では、酸化物ナノ結晶上に有機分子を結合して配位結合能を付与することを目的とした。化学結合を自由度高く可逆的に制御できる配位結合を用いることで、温度、pHなどの条件で自在に集積を制御できるデバイスの構築が期待できる。既に研究申請者は、酸化物ナノ結晶の合成場にカルボキシル基を有する有機分子を共存させることで、有機分子が表面に結合した無機ナノ粒子を合成することに成功している。そこで、この手法を応用して、ナノ粒子表面に配位結合能を有する有機分子を結合させた。さらに、この配位結合能を活用して、粒子同士を複合化させたクラスター構造の形成を行った。
1 酸化物ナノ結晶への配位結合能の付与
有機分子を表面に結合させた酸化物ナノ結晶を合成した。具体的には、両端にカルボキシル基を有する有機分子、もしくはカルボキシル基とカテコール構造を有する有機分子の存在下で金属イオン水溶液を200~300℃に加熱することで、酸化物ナノ結晶を合成した。合成されたナノ結晶の表面には、カルボキシル基ないし、カテコール構造が配位して有機分子が複合化されている。もう一端に存在するカルボキシル基が外側を向いているため、カルボキシル基を介して粒子同士が結合することが可能となった。
2 ナノ結晶間の複合構造形成
合成条件を変えることで、外側にカルボキシル基を向けている酸化物ナノ結晶が複合化した構造の形成に成功した。Fe304ナノ結晶の場合、1次粒子径が20nm程度であり、この粒子が複合化したナノクラスターの形成が可能となった。ナノクラスターの構造は数百nm程度まで大きくすることが可能であり、磁場に対する応答性を制御することができた。
