Outline of Research at the Start

連続的対称性の破れた相の性質は、南部-Goldstoneモードとトポロジカル励起により支配されます。磁気スキルミオンに代表されるトポロジカル励起は、秩序変数の空間的変化が、連続変形により一様なものに変形できない励起であり、非摂動的効果により現れます。本研究では、量子液晶の代表格である量子スピン液晶における新規スキルミオンの開拓とその創発物性の解明を行います。特に、量子スピン液晶スキルミオン格子や量子スピン液晶分数スキルミオンの開拓を中心に行い、その非自明な構造に由来した特異な物性を明らかにします。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

これまでのほとんどの研究において見出されていた磁気スキルミオン結晶は、秩序変数空間がS^2=CP^1である古典スピン系あるいはスピン1/2の系に限られていた。そうした中我々は、一般化Dzyaloshinskii-守谷(DM)相互作用を含んだスピン1の強磁性体の模型において、秩序変数空間が複素射影空間CP^2である、スピン液晶スキルミオン結晶(CP^2スキルミオン結晶)という新規相が系の基底状態として現れることを明らかにしてきた。
最終年度では、我々が提案した一般化DM相互作用の導入が比較的行いやすい冷却原子系で、スピン液晶スキルミオン結晶が広く安定化することを明らかにした。具体的には7Li、23Na、41K、87RbなどのS=1のスピノールボース系のパラメータを用いて、先行研究で提案されているレーザーによる一般化スピン軌道相互作用の下、有効スピン模型を構築した。これまでの我々の研究でのスピン模型は、bilinear biquadratic模型における結合定数J1、J2がJ1=J2となるようなfine tuningが必要であったが、上記の有効スピン模型はJ1≠J2という状況に該当する。そして、上記の冷却原子系のいずれにおいても、スピン液晶スキルミオン結晶が安定化するパラメータ領域が存在することが明らかとなった。また、他にも新規磁性相として、スピン液晶分数スキルミオン結晶、スピン液晶ダブルスキルミオン結晶、スピン液晶ヘリマグネティック相、スピン液晶スキルミオニウム結晶が現れることを明らかにした。
他にも、空間反転対称性を持つ三角格子上近藤格子模型において、テラヘルツ電場の印加によって誘起される実時間ダイナミクスの数値解析を行った。結果として、最小サイズの磁気スキルミオン結晶が光によって誘起でき、そのカイラリティの符号が円偏光の左右によって制御できることも明らかにした。
