Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は地化学機械学習のアプローチより独自に開発した,元素輸送量推定モデルを用いて,付加体から変成帯における様々な温度・圧力条件を被った変質岩のシリカ輸送量を逆解析し,Slow-to-Fast地震発生帯におけるシリカ輸送量の空間分布を物質科学的に明らかにするとともに,Slow地震およびFast地震発生域における亀裂閉塞過程の解明を目指す.

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

昨年度開発した変成堆積岩の原岩組成復元モデルのアルゴリズムの改良と高精度化,高圧変成岩のフィールド調査と元素移動量解析,原岩組成復元モデルのGUI実装とweb公開を行った.
原岩組成復元モデルは,全球の堆積物の化学組成データにおける組成空間上の相関を機械学習により学習することで,少数の元素濃度から全元素濃度を推定する.本年度は機械学習のアルゴリズムを昨年度採用していたガウス過程回帰から勾配決定木の一種である自然勾配ブースト(NGBoost)に変更することで,1モデルあたりの計算時間を約12時間から約5分に短縮するとともに,個々の予測値の不確定性も推定可能とした.これにより様々な入力元素と出力元素の組み合わせに対応した原岩組成復元モデルを開発した.モデルの一部はGUI化し,Githubに公開した.
また,沈み込む前の海洋プレートにおける元素移動量を特定するために南太平洋および北西太平洋の海洋底変質玄武岩に原岩組成復元モデルを適用し,Rb, Ba, U, Kなどの16元素の元素移動量を定量化した.海洋底熱水変質における元素移動量を4サイト201サンプルから系統的に明らかにした.
フィールド調査では三波川変成帯の泥質変成岩/玄武岩質変成岩境界に着目し,岩相境界における主要元素,微量元素,鉱物モード組成,反応進行度を解析した.その結果,泥質片岩側で曹長石が増加し,玄武岩質変成岩側で角閃石や曹長石が減少し緑泥石や白雲母が増加する変質作用があったことが明らかになった.また,岩相境界では系統的にK, Cs, Rb, Baなどの濃度が両岩相で増加しており,岩相境界が選択的な流体流路となっていることが明らかになった.
