Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では,高い生物生産性と生物多様性を有する沿岸環境を対象として,植物プランクトン種組成推定の基礎パラメーターとなる水中の固有光学特性(IOP)に着目し,光環境が複雑な沿岸域において高精度に汎用的にIOPsを推定する新しいアルゴリズムを開発する.また,ハイパースペクトルセンサーを含む最新の高分解能の海色衛星データを使用し,沿岸域においてIOPsの広域推定を試みる.本計画の達成のため,本研究では,沿岸域において水質・光学観測を実施すると共に,既存の全球及び複数の沿岸域の光学・水質実測値を使用し,光学的特性に基づく水塊分類手法を組み合わせ,従来のIOPs推定の適用限界の拡張を目指す.

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では,光環境が複雑な沿岸域を対象に,各種固有光学特性(IOPs) を,汎用的に高精度に推定する新しいIOPs推定アルゴリズムを開発することを主な目的としている.初めに,グローバルに取得されている光学データベースを整理し,さらに複数の高濁度の沿岸域を対象として船舶による光学観測を実施し,IOPs推定アルゴリズム開発のベースとなるIOPsの収集と,アルゴリズム検証に必要となる実測値の収集を行った.これらの収集した実測値を利用し, 5つの半解析的なIOPs推定アルゴリズムの適用性を検証した結果,生物光学モデルによりIOPsを段階的に推定するQAAは沿岸域のようなIOPsの広いダイナミックレンジに対し有効であることが確認できた.また,水塊ごとに適したIOPsアルゴリズムの推定手法を把握することを目的として,階層クラスタリングによってIOPsベースの水塊分類を行った.その結果,外洋系の光学特性,沿岸と外洋が混ざり合った光学特性,沿岸系の高濃度(無機物系・有機物系)の光学特性に分類され,それぞれのIOPsが低・中強度の水域ではSIOPsを一定値とするタイプのIOPsアルゴリズムが有効であり,IOPsが高い強度となる沿岸域ではSIOPsが可変とするQAAが有効であることが分かり,それぞれのアルゴリズムの特徴を整理することができた.さらに,汎用的なIOPs推定手法として,主成分分析による互いに相関の無い主成分を作成し,主成分を説明変数としてIOPs実測値を目的変数として重回帰分析を行うことで,それぞれのIOPsアルゴリズムを統合することを試みた.その結果,単一のアルゴリズムより,主成分回帰によって統合したアルゴリズム高精度で且つ汎用性が高くIOPsを推定できることが確認できた.また,水塊分類の結果に基づき,再度主成分回帰を用いることでよりさらに高精度化できる可能性があることを示した.
