Research Abstract

植物は、発生初期に「形成」したメリステムを「維持」しながら器官「分化」を繰り返すことで成長する。本研究ではサイトカイニンを感知して活性化する二成分制御系のレスポンスレギュレーターをコードするB型調臆伝子の三重欠損変異体ではサイトカイニン非感受性となることを示し、後胚発生過程で茎頂及び根端分裂組織の分裂活性の低下と根端分裂組織における前形成層細胞の維持に異常が生じることを明らかにした。また、植物の栄養生長から生殖成長への茎頂メリステムの相転換(花成)は、日長に依存してFTの発現が誘導されることで調節されている。本研究では、マメ科に属する長日植物ミヤコグサのゲノムデータベースからFTオーソログをコードする遺伝子LjFTaを同定し、シロイヌナズナのFTを相補する活性があること、ミヤコグサにおいて長日条件特異的に誘導されていることを明らかにした。LjFTaの発現を調節する機構を解析する過程で、マメ科植物に特異的な日長感知機構の存在を示唆する解析結果を得た。茎頂メリステムから発生した側成器官の伸張生長は、日長と温度に応答して調節されている。伸長生長を正に調節するフィトクロム相互作用因子をコードするPIF4の転写は概日時計の支配下にあり、日長に応答した概日リズムをもっている。本研究では、日長と温度シグナルがPIF4の概日リズムを変化させ、暗期後半にPIF4が活性化し下流の遺伝子発現を誘導することで伸張生長が調節されていることを明らかにした。本結果を踏まえて、概日時計・光情報伝達・ホルモン情報伝達系が統合して植物の伸張生長を支えていることを分子レベルで説明した外的符号モデルを提唱した。
