Outline of Annual Research Achievements

有機分子触媒を用いる反応は、環境融和型有機合成において欠くことのできない手法となっている。遷移金属触媒などに比べると一般に多くの触媒量を必要とする。特に第四級アンモニウム塩などのイオン構造を有する有機分子触媒は、両親媒性の性質を有しているため、これらの化合物を相当量使用すると、反応後の分離に困難を伴い目的物の単離にも支障をきたすことがある。このような問題を解決するための方法として、触媒の高分子化が有効である。高分子化された触媒は、溶解性などの物性が低分子の触媒と大きく異なることから、反応系からの分離は容易に行うことができる。有機分子触媒として多くの不斉反応において高活性を示すキラル第四級アンモニウム塩型触媒、およびキラルイミダゾリジノン型(MacMillan型)触媒の高分子化を開発し、高分子反応場が不斉反応に及ぼす影響について次の3つの方法を調査した。
(1)エーテル型二量体とジハライドによる重合では、シンコニジンからエーテル型二量体を合成し、等モルのジハライドと反応させることで、四級化反応による重合でキラル高分子触媒を得た。これは重付加型の重合反応であり、原子効率100%の重合である。(2)チオエーテル型二量体とジハライドによる重合では、シンコニジンの二重結合に対するチオールの付加反応を利用して二量体を合成した。この二量体に対するジハライドの四級化反応は(1)と同様にキラル第四級アンモニウム塩を主鎖繰り返し単位構造として含む高分子の合成を可能とした。(3)第四級アンモニウム塩型二量体とジスルホン酸塩との重合では、第四級アンモニウム塩型二量体に対して、等モルのジスルホン酸ナトリウムを反応させることにより、分子間で速やかにイオン交換反応が進行し、キラル第四級アンモニウム塩をイオン結合によって主鎖繰り返し単位構造に含む新しい高分子構造を構築した。
