Outline of Annual Research Achievements

①フェロモン受容神経回路の性差同定：松尾らによって作出された神経活動を経時的に可視化できるマウスを用い、同一個体に対してマウスオス尿とメス尿を呈示し、それぞれの刺激に対して特異的に応答を示す扁桃体内側核の神経細胞を蛍光顕微鏡下で同定した。その結果、オスマウスでは扁桃体内側核内でオスシグナルはMEAの腹側部を介して、メスシグナルはと背側部を介して伝達されることが明らかとなった。驚くべきことに、これらの性シグナルの伝達はメスでは逆転し、オスシグナルが背側部を、メスシグナルが腹側部を介して伝達されるという、明瞭な回路の性差を見出した。また申請者らが明らかにしたオスマウスの涙に含まれるフェロモンESP1でも同じようにオスでは腹側部に、メスでは背側部に情報が送られることが明らかとなった。
②周産期において、人為的にホルモンを操作することにより、性行動の逆転を引き起こした。その結果、性シグナルの伝達神経回路も同様に逆転することが確認された。さらに行動表現型では、マウスのオス型の性行動のうち、求愛歌発声は胎生期テストステロンの作用を介した神経回路構築（遺伝的制御）に依存し、オスのマウント行動は成長後のテストステロン処置のみで誘起（ホルモン制御）される表現型であることを見出した。すなわち、メスからの同じ匂い分子によって制御されるこれら2つの性特異的な行動は、その情報伝達回路である扁桃体内側核でホルモン依存的な処理と、遺伝子発現を介した回路制御の2つの機構を持つことが示唆された。
