Outline of Annual Research Achievements

リアリスティックな質感をもつ刺激から生起される３次元形状知覚の理解にアプローチした。陰影・ハイライト・透明感・半透明感といった質感因子に注目して，それらが引き起こす３次元形状知覚について心理物理学的・計算論的に検討した。
まず，リアリスティックな質感からの３次元形状知覚における光源へ依存性を理解するために，心理実験を実施した。具体的には，凹凸知覚の光源方向に対する依存性を測定した。この結果，凹凸知覚における光源への依存性は質感に依存することが示された。次に、３次元知覚がlocalな形状を捉えているかどうかを理解するために，新たな心理物理実験を実施した。具体的には，２点間の奥行き比較実験を行った。この実験によって，初年度に得た知見がlocalに成立しているのか，globalな凹凸感であるのかを検討した。実験の結果，質感からの形状知覚はlocal に成立していることが示された。
さらに，リアリスティックな質感からの３次元形状知覚に適応させたNMF/ICAを利用して，モデルの構築と符号化形式研究を実施した。 具体的には，３次元形状の皮質表現に注目して，心理物理実験から示される質感要因や画像特徴から３次元復元を行い得る制約について検討した。この結果，疎表現によってBRDFが表現できることが示された。このように，リアリスティックな質感をもつ刺激から生起される３次元形状知覚の理解に心理物理学的・計算論的にアプローチした。
