Research Abstract

近年、水の可視光分解システムの開発を主眼とし、機能性錯体を固定化した酸化チタン微粒子電極を用いた光電気化学セルの研究が注目を集めているが、光電気化学セルを用いた水の可視光分解を達成するためには、酸素発生触媒部から光増感部への電子移動の最適化が重要となる。本年度は、ルテニウム光増感剤及び酸素発生触媒をそれぞれ修飾した酸化チタン電極、更に、光増感部及び酸素発生触媒部を併せ持つルテニウム二核錯体を修飾した酸化チタン電極を作製し、その光電気化学セルの機能評価を行った。その酸素発生触媒には、我々が以前にその触媒活性を見出した単核ルテニウム錯体触媒、並びにモリブデン含有コバルトポリオキソメタレート錯体を用いた。それぞれの電極について、アンペロメトリー測定を行ったところ、光照射に伴い電流の大幅な向上が見られ、電極表面上で光酸素発生を駆動する光アノードとして機能することが示唆された。一方、均一系で光化学的な酸素発生を促進する光酸素発生デバイスの開発にも取り組んだ。具体的には、[Ru(bpy)3]2+誘導体に、二つのコバルト錯体からなる酸素発生触媒部位を共有結合させることにより、分子内における酸素―酸素結合形成を活性化することのできる光酸素発生デバイスの合成と機能評価を行った。その結果、本錯体は、光を駆動力とした酸素発生反応を進行しないことが判明したものの、その酸素発生触媒挙動を電気化学的に評価したところ、その触媒回転頻度は、60 s-1と優れた触媒特性を示すことが判明した。
