Research Abstract

本研究の目的は、固液界面へのレーザー照射を利用した液相レーザーアブレーションによる形成機構解明、および、生成量子ドットのエネルギー分野での応用である。形成機構解明は平成24年度に一定の成果を得たため、平成25年度は生成量子ドットのエネルギー分野での応用の研究を進めた。
特に注力した内容はシリコン系量子ドット増感太陽電池に関する研究である。電解質としてヨウ素系と多硫化物系のものを用いてデバイスを作製し、太陽電池特性を測定したところ、短絡電流密度、開放電圧共に大きく増加し、可視光領域におけるシリコン量子ドットによる増感効果が確認された。通常のpn接合のシリコン太陽電池は10~20%程度の変換効率であるが、量子ドット増感太陽電池は集光系では60%程度まで高められると期待されており、本研究においても増感効果が確認できたことは重要であると考えられる。ヨウ素系電解質の場合は、開放電圧と曲線因子はほぼ経時的に一定であったが、短絡電流密度が増加したため変換効率も経時的に増加した。デバイスの作製時に、シリコン量子ドットのエタノール溶液を直接酸化チタンペーストに混ぜると太陽電池特性が劣化したが、乾燥したシリコン量子ドットを用いると劣化は生じなかった。また、実際のデバイス化ではある程度の量のシリコンナノ粒子を必要とするため、量子ドット生成量の照射レーザーパワー依存性を調査した。レーザーの照射エネルギー密度を一定にして、照射パワーを増加させることにより生成量が増加することが確認され、生成量増加の指針が示された。
併せて、近赤外領域の太陽光を利用することによって太陽電池の変換効率を向上させることができるとされているアップコンバージョンナノ粒子、および、照明等の省エネルギーを促進させる白色発光ダイオード用のYAG:Ce蛍光体等の検討を進めた。
